I will overwhelm 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" his opponent as the pair met personally to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.
Ex two time world title holder Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami venue on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I'm going to break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's my goal."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Opponent
Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.
Paul's History
Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
However, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's biggest financial successes, regularly earning substantial earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.
Size Disparity
As both boxers engaged in the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really proceeding.
